I've never made croutons in that shape, but I will now.

With a little good olive oil drizzle 👍

How do you get your radishes sliced so beautifully thin? Is it your fantastic knife skills or a mandolin?
pd3ski_278514
Freshly sharpened japanese steel 🔪! Yeah I think Col. Klink could use one of those as a monocle ;-)
Mandolins are dangerous... look at Ome's thumb!
This uploaded terrible quality but you'll get the idea..

Can you recommend a nice knife I can purchases , under 200$ to slice my veggies wafer thin?
pd3ski_278514
Absolutely otter! Let's do this, I'll link you to a site then I want you to poke around pick a couple that you like something about. But also do you have a pref for steel type stainless/carbon, handle western or wa? Do you sharpen if yes with what if no then we're going have to talk about that mister! What are you using now?
There are some fun and really killer blades out there for less than a buck twenty to learn with !
Edit.. oops forgot the link....

Thank you pd3. I'm going to start a new thread this weekend and see where it goes.
Did a little shopping today. Taking your advice and using this thing called the internet to educate myself I ordered this stuff to get me started: 140 grit diamond flattening plate, 2 in 1 wetstone 240/800 grit and a 1000/6000 grit, deburring felt block, universal stone holder and a rubber mat. Some of this stuff is coming in tomorrow and the rest Saturday so I'll be able to start playing this weekend. I saw a strop kit that caught my eye but I didn't buy it (maybe I should have). Has a metal base and 2 magnet attachments, balsam wood w/1 mic diamond juice and a leather strop. My next goal is work on transforming my humble knives into something beautiful. Have a great weekend and thanks for the advice.
