Should I start a Video Channel?

Well friends. Since years I am thinking about doing little video content based on cooking.

But I never wanted to put my face or person in front of viewers because I like privacy.

Since I see more and more videos in different angles shooting like seeing only working hands tools and plates I was thinking if I should do it or leave it to the pros overseas? Thank s to Your advice.

Well. I Cook traditional food with high end technics. But i Don t try to be creative. I am not the "New Guy". Thanks for ur advice.

With the expection of ChefSteps, I'd say about 90% of the videos I watch as it pertains to preparing food you never see more than the cook's hands/arms. I understand the desire to not put your face out there, but it's not that hard to have the camera not pointed at your face. If you have recipes, techniques, or whatever else that you want to put out there, do it. If you do not, don't.

Go for it! I kinda miss the old-style video of Chefsteps to be honest. No talk, just kitchen science happening and dishes being made.

The fact that you're asking you're almost there. :-) Great step and let us in on the channel! You could easily start with what you think works best and get feedback and adjust accordingly. You may end up seeing your face after a while who knows. Wouldn't rule it out and your posts here are well liked so I think your channel would be well received.

I was going to start my own channel, The Drunk Deaf Chef, or something like that once. Then I learned the hard way, you need equipment and more than that, you need the right space for it. Lighting is so important, multiple lights, strong enough, along with the right camera (which actually I had), tripods, etc... Then there is the editing, and in most cases you have to film 2-3 times each thing if you want multiple angles. I say if you don't feel comfortable with all that, but you do with the cooking part, find someone to do all the setup-filming for you.

If you have the right lighting, and a tripod that fits on the counter, you can make even a small/bad layout work. Just do test shots before everything. For instance if mixing something in a bowl, set up the camera for the frame you want, then record yourself mixing nothing in the bowl for like 30 seconds to see how the auto-focus (if using) is going to react, making sure everything you want visible is visible. For adding things, just use salt or water and watch where your hands are going to make sure you angling right so people see it go in. Then you record again but using the actual ingredients and you'll know where to place your hands/arms/utensils.

The only Video Equipment I have is a simple IPhone 7 Plus and several Apple devices like an iMac and iPad. I Know. It Sounds like a joke. But i have to Start somewhere.
