Test Video for Film cooking, my first baby steps, Thanks for helping and judging, Tipps etc. Music had to be off because I am sure I am not allowed to use the Musik I just like. This video is only watchable by using the link. I am just thankful for any advices. In this Video it s not about the content "cooking" it self for now. This video is only about the setup and how to film. I will take care about the content after I know how to film and do movies propper.

Just my 2 cents, take it down what it's worth. A decent first go round. Towards the end, you quickly zoom in, then zoom out. You might want to work on making the transition a bit smoother. While no one can argue with the skill or techniques you're using to cook, the video itself is cold and mechanical: there's no soul or personality to it. thanks for sharing.

Nice job chef. I liked the speed at which you filmed, it kept my interest the entire time. I loved watching both the preparation of the pasta and the saute. Maybe be doing a close up during the saute and then moving back out when the pasta is done, and even cutting to where you drain the pasta. And then a closeup when add the pasta to the saute. But honestly all in all I would watch it as is. Yea, I don't know what the intellectual property rights laws are in your country or how international property rights on music apply. @Matthew_Snyder_68770 any guidance here??

Thanks. Well. I think I need more colour and a warm back ground plus a much better camera set up. I haven t focused on cooking during that video ;-), it was all about to see if this would even Make sense at all.

Music licensing can be prohibitively expensive... but not as expensive as not doing it correctly.

Rules are different all over the place, but for YouTube content, I'd suggest finding a music licensing service that has a royalty-free library. Free Music Archive, Premium Beat, like that.

I like the overhead view. Maybe like Johns says, a cut to draining etc.. but maybe a side angle looking down. The fast paced stuff is fine but at some point it bugs me almost as if I want more information. You could do a slow down but still be faster than real time to give the viewer a few more details. Anyway it was a fun watch and I hope to see more! Maybe that veg tart that you recently posted... that would be a fun view high speed!

Very good first test IMO. Took me half dozen attempts to get anywhere near that. My suggestion would be to get two flat LED panels and turn off the overhead light. That way regardless of your utensils it should eliminate most glare/shadows, and will help with colouring even too. Positioning is great, I noticed it was angled though, which didn't hurt the video but it may be a sign that whatever is holding it there isn't tightened and you don't want it to fall into the pan. The one thing I noticed though, I think your camera settings (if I remember you said you use an iPhone) are set to lower qualities. Maybe you did that to save memory, but if you have the space I'd suggest turning off auto-focus once you have it where you want, upping to 60fps instead of the 30 you used. If you are using any iPhone other than the 7 Plus, DO NOT ZOOM for video. That will cause pixelation. Also, search around for quick examples of how to set and set the exposure manually so the iPhone won't keep adjusting it (which can cause lighting issues giving you more to adjust after you are done).

As for speed/music, that something you'll get the hang of, some parts faster, some slower, it really just comes down to what feels right for the particular moment. Personal preference, I would have upped it to 60fps, slowed it down a tad, and did a fade-out/fade-in cut in places where there were multiple seconds of nothing. The zoom at the end, instead of video you can just use a really high quality photo zoomed in as sorta en end freeze frame as credit roll kinda thing.

All in all, I think you can have a very good channel going quite quick. I'd be a subscriber for sure, and am very envious of you.

Damn. What a speach.

Yes. I am using an IPhone 7 Plus 250 GB and have enough space. (Kitchen was just beeing used and not cleaned up yet, sorry) , i Shot the Video in that Mode and then i die a mistake and transfered it to my iPad instead of my iMac. It downsized the Qualität from 4 K (30 fps) to 720 p HD, which was Not what i wanted. I think i have to work with the iMac and the iPhone 7 Plus only. The Software i used was iMovie. That was redicilious because i wanted to Speed up more so i Had to Save in between to Speed up again. Well if there is a better Software i would Be happy to use it. The Other Crazy mistake i did was the angle of taking the Video. I did a Vertical Video and had to change that to horizontal. The biggest issue i have, is that i can not more Zoom out to get an overview of the hole Cooking plate because the Distance of my vent System is to close hanging down to the Full induction Cooking Plate as u Can Tell from the Fotos. Other then that, i Need a Software to Control the iPhone Camera from an iPad and to See live How the Camera performs. Well I am happy to get help and advice from u guys. Oh. By the way I am using a "Liveproof" case on my iPhone so I don t cook my phone by mistake. ;-) but I don t know if the lenses cover does impact on quality. Damn. Filming is an art by itself. I hope I will ever get to to a good decend Performance. I am listening to u guys and try my best to get into it.

There is a cam app on the Apple Store, forget the name that allows you to also do 720p and 4k@60fps instead of just 1080p. 720p@60fps should give you the best bang for your buck quality to memory IMO. Honestly though you have everything down amazingly well given your space and what you have to work with. Really now it just a matter of developing the content, and the feel of the videos. Anything technical at this point, I suggest reading around online the guides for both photography and recording, how lighting works, etc... some things with the software. It is all interesting and even a couple minutes from the right article/guide may give you a ton more confidence and may teach you a little trick that can make worlds of different.
