So my wife has been trying to get me to cook for a couple of decades now, and funnily enough, it's the Joule which has got me into the kitchen. I'm prone to grilling badly, and never really enjoyed the oven. My chicken would need to be "just nuked for a minute" or the pork chops would be overdone.
And now? The kids gobble up the moist chicken, the pork chops bring rave reviews and the ribeye is perfect. The filet mignon is not wasted if I cook it, in fact it's better than many of the restaurant meals I've had. What an eye opener!
Had a couple of interesting side uses for the Joule, such as defrosting bacon (cooked in the oven at 375 on a rack on a pan for 14 minutes was amazing), and heating up water for a fish tank water change. That worked perfectly, btw.
What's great is I "gave" the Joule to my wife, but I'm the one using it, and she loves it that I'm able to cook for our family (regularly 4-8 depending on who's staying over. The flexibility is awesome, and we've saved money by buying whole flanks and chopping it up, seasoning, shrink wrapping and freezing.
Thanks!
