Ultimate Chocolate Cake w/ Olive Oil

Has anyone tried to make the Ultimate Chocolate Cake using olive oil instead of a neutral oil? Is extra virgin advisable, or no?

I have tried this. I used a high quality, grassy olive oil. The flavor was strong and (dare I say?) pleasant in the batter, but pretty much no flavor made it through to the cake. I could detect no real difference from when I made the cake with olive oil. It surprised me. But I'm better for it.
