Buttermilk smoked fried chicken

i love fried chicken and smoked chicken I have seen some recipes in line but I wanna use my joule to do this any ideas
I have a dedicated smoker, joule and a chicken fryer cast iron.
Please tell me your ideas

This might be difficult to do. As shown in their latest video, you might try using a grill or smoker as your heat source to hear up your oil. I'm not sure you'll be able to combine cooking sous vide, smoking, and deep frying without overcooking your chicken. I've seen plenty of recipes combining smoking the chicken then deep frying, but throwing that third method in there is the hard part. You might try making fried chicken, then use a smoking gun to smoke it after the fact.

Dark meat would be easier to work with and if your smoker temp can be kept low, this may be possible (sv then smoke prior to fry). Another alternative would be to use a cold smoke while product is still warm (have done this with duck and turkey with good success). One other thought wouldn't require a smoker and that would be to use liquid smoke in your brine.

I'd probably try to cold smoke the chicken pieces before sous vide, then proceed as normal in any recipe.
David Chang cold smokes his wings before slow cooking them in fat.
