The nice part about traveling is visiting the various farmer's markets. Picked up some swiss chard, fresh parsley, goats cheese that is incredibly creamy and some mushrooms. Stopped off at whole foods and grabbed some pine nuts and flour (already had the eggs). Made some fresh pasta by hand (there's something therapeutic about cooking even when it's a bit ugly) and made the ravioli (cooked garlic chard, pine nut, goat cheese, lemon zest and parmesan). Served it with some pesto I had made and brought with me along with the mushrooms, shallots etc (bringing some of your own sauces from home really does make a difference IMHO). Topped with some parmesan.
