Egg White Powder Substitute?

I'm not sure where to find Egg White Powder locally, but I have found a store that sells Meringue Powder, which seems to be primarily made from egg whites. Can I use this has a substitute in the recipe, or would I be better off just omitting this ingredient if I can't find it?

Have you checked at your local grocery store or natural foods store?

A few different places stock egg white powder here in the Finger Lakes region of NY.

I get it at Wegman's.

I'm in Norway. From experience, it's generally a lot harder to get specialty ingredients like that in supermarkets than in English speaking countries like Australia and the US. Local supermarkets tend to have very little beyond the most basic cooking ingredients here.

I tried a local organic shop that often has some less common ingredients, but they said they only had some egg substitute, presumably for vegans, not egg white powder, and a local bakeshop only seems to have the Meringue powder, not plain egg white powder.

@Lachlan Hunt, I live in Norway as well and tend to struggle with finding specialty ingredients locally. Fortunatly I've found modernistpantry.com, from their site I've been able to get hold of some ingredients that either I haven't been able to find in Norway, or they're ridiculously expensive here.

You could also try Gastronaut http://www.gastronaut.no 

And I agree with Odd, Modernist Pantry is also a good place to buy specialty ingredients/powders.

I know this is an old thread, but the answer was never posted. Meringue Powder is virtually the same thing as egg white powder. http://bakingbites.com/2009/01/what-is-meringue-powder/
