Another family dinner, this time it was my father's turn and he has loved key-lime pie (used he CS lemon curd as a template and modified a few things) since our first visit to FL many years ago. Perhaps the best part was due to a surgery a little over a year ago, he can taste very little, but when he took a bite of this, his eyes grew huge and he knew what it was before I told him. He had a giggle at the pop rocks sensation in the cookie base crust. His response was the best Xmas gift I could have received. The main was a 24hr rib roast cut into steaks, salsify foam, creamsicle sweet potato puree (these two not available here) and roasted veg and potatoes (ala Heston/Chris). Served the main with roast beef aroma which was well received.
