Hey,
I'm new here! I wanted to say hello to everyone and introduce myself. I'm a self-taught chef that loves cooking and eating amazing food. I also run a software company and I'd like to use technology to connect chefs with customers.
I've come to notice that chefs aren't being paid what I believe they deserve, I can only speak from experience in Toronto, ON, Canada but here chefs are paid $15/hr, whereas I can call a plumber and pay $80-$150/hr.
I'm thinking about launching an online website / app that will allow chefs to create profiles, add menu items, price them, set how much advanced notice they will need for orders, set a minimum order amount, and fixed delivery fee, or free delivery... also have an option to book the chef for in-house cooking. Then the customer can enter their address, and see chefs within 10km and add items to their cart and pre-order meals from the chefs for either events (catering), or for meal-prep for the week etc...
I'd like to hear your thoughts about this idea, and how I can improve it to help you succeed. You can do these side-gigs while having a full-time or part-time job, because you'll have the advanced notice to prepare during your off-hours.
Let me know what you think!
