The perfect pairing! Couldn't have picked a better partner for them. Will keep pressure on Anova etc to continue to innovate rather than rest on their laurels. And more website content is good news too.

Here's the letter:
CWJ Folks:
At the end of April I shared the difficult news that ChefSteps was going through a very challenging period as a business. Since then, we’ve had nothing but understanding and offers of support from this amazing community. Thank you.
It turns out that like many of you, Breville has been a long-time fan of ChefSteps. So when they saw my post in April they reached out and asked how they could help us. Because of this I have much better news to share today:
ChefSteps and our Joule product have agreed to become part of the Breville global family.
This means a lot of great things for everyone. Joule products will continue to be fully supported and developed by many of the same people you’ve come to know at ChefSteps. There will be more great cooking content coming too. And as part of Breville, we’re now backed by the tremendous capabilities and expertise of a world-class premium kitchen appliance company. This means that both Joule products and ChefSteps will continue to thrive.
Over the last eight years we’ve gotten to know many of you personally. This relationship has been at the heart of ChefSteps, and we’ve always tried to make decisions that serve the interest of our community. And this is why I’m excited for ChefSteps to become part of Breville; they share our belief in putting the community first.
So with things figured out now, the ChefSteps team in Seattle, supported by our new Breville colleagues around the world, is ready to get back to work doing what we love and sharing it with you. I can’t wait.
Thank you,
Chris

Here's a couple of more things, including an interview with the CEO that says
"...but I know there are several things we are very close I think we will be able to ship to our community later this year and I am quite excited about that."

I'm happy!

Glad for the folks at CS! I hope the forum survives the reboot and Breville throws some resources to bring it back to life.

Congratulations! Indeed, good news.
The last couple of months must have been a rollercoaster ride for the whole team.
Congratulations to Breville too, for taking Chefsteps on board, thereby giving the Team the opportunity to make room to pursue for what they are best about.
Looking forward the team is back for future James Beard Awards.

I can’t believe this was only announced on Facebook. I’ve been a loyal user since Premium meant something, and got the news from an ominous email announcing that “certain assets” had been acquired by Breville. So I went to ChefSteps.com, and there was no news there either. Now here I am trying to figure it out from forum posts.
The whole world doesn’t use Facebook.
ChefSteps is quick to send email when they are announcing new products, I would have hoped news like this would have merited an email too.

meh...I've been here since the pre-pay, before the product was built. I don't use Facebook. I realize that FB has been their social media of choice. I first learned of this on this forum. No big deal. It's not like there is an immediacy that is important to us. I'm curious though, what are the "new products" you've been receiving emails about. Aside from the line of sauces (where direct email certainly makes sense), I haven't seen anything new.

Wow! Terrific news.
BUT, I only found out by stumbling upon this post!
I, like others here (perhaps our creative streak does not waste our time with the herd at FB?), am not and have never been a fan nor a user of FaceBook. I agree that CS might have conveyed this directly to their most loyal supporters:
Us
.
Nonetheless - I'm very happy that CS and my darling Joule now have a future. Congratulations!

I got an email.
