Could we get instructions on how to bake the Pie Crust recipe with two layers?
danielwhitescubadiver
The latest pie crust recipe suggests it can be used for a double-layered pie crust, yet doesn't provide any directions on how to bake that. Do you skip the blind bake in that case?

Blind baking is used when the filling does not need to be cooked, or when the filling will take less time to cook than the crust. Otherwise, just fill raw crust and bake.

Hi Daniel,
FrankM is correct. The
Super Apple Pie
recipe offers info on adding a top layer, crimping, and baking. The baking instructions will differ between pie recipes—depending on the fillings.

I just made the crust last night and baked it today. I did a blind bake for the pumpkin pies and not for the apple pie. It was extremely good. I was not able to master the "shaving" butter technique used in the recipe, so I reverted to my old method of grating the butter in, then coated it in the flour like he did and then cut it into the pie crust. I highly recommend it.
