Joule Ready Sauces

I know they were divisive, but I was one of the people who loved the Joule Ready Sauces. They were super helpful for making quick weeknight meals that were delicious.

@Kyl_Haselbauer_worked_at_chefsteps_1040170 any chance they will be coming back? And if not, is there any chance that we can access the recipes for personal use? I could see freezing up a bunch of them for quick meal nights.

I'd love this too. Having pre-made sauces to make quick weeknight meals is very valuable. If there are legal reasons you can't provide the existing recipes, would you consider a series/class on making sauces that can be used for a quick sous vide meal?

Hi Wes, I am in the process of figuring out if the Intellectual property of the Joule ready sauces stayed with us or not. If it is something I can share I will. As for the possibility of a sauce class.. that's a great idea and ill run that by to see if it is locked up with the Joule ready brand. thanks for your questions, I miss those sauces too!

Those dates, are technically best by dates, for quality not safety.... But that is your call!

Yes..on the sauces! I downloaded all the ingredients listed in every sauce and ordered or prepared them as best I could without knowing quantities. It would be sooo nice to have sauce classes so we can make them.

Unfortunately, the way companies think (and Breville is definitely a company!), why give something away for free if there is even a tiny chance that another company will come along someday and want to buy your intellectual property. But I would love some cool sauce/marinade recipes.

I do take the link you provided that recipes aren't copyrighted materials. However, recipes can be patented. The problem with patents is that they are required to be public record (how can a competitor know if they're committing patent fraud if they don't know what they other guy is doing?) which then leaves the entire recipe wide open for anyone who wants to use it nefariously until the patent expires, and legally after the patent expires. That's why many companies do not publish or provide more than the minimum requirements on a label, and just keep it a company trade secret, an example of this would be Coca Cola. The downside is there's no legal protection if the formula gets leaked, which is why these types of formulas are so well guarded. I don't take what Kyl indicates as whether it's copyrighted or not, I think it's who owns the recipes themselves. While there may not be anything legal that could be done (although I'm sure a lawyer could argue some kind of corporate espionage) if they provided trade secrets that they did not have the company authority to provide, the could be in a boat load of hot water from a civil standpoint and sued out the wazoo by the owners of the recipes. Just my 2 cents on it, probably not even worth that.

just found out we still have all the rights to the joule ready sauces, we are pulling the formulas to reformulate them to be made at home and I will be brining them back in the next few months.
