Recipes are now scalable
michaelnatkin
All of the recipes on the site now let you scale the quantities. For example, let's say a recipe calls for 300 grams eye-of-newt (*) and 5.4 grams tail-of-rat, but you want to make it with 450 grams eye-of-newt. Just click on the 300, change it to 450, and voila, all of the other ingredients will scale up or down to match. This works also when you are in pounds/ounces mode (accessed by clicking on the column title.) You can even scale it and then print a nicely-formatted copy to take into the kitchen with you.
Try it out and let us know what you think. Suggestions welcome!
* We don't actually recommend eating eye-of-newt.

Sweet nice work and very handy. I have been converting everything to grams as I have been making normal recipes, it's so much faster than volume measurements.

I don't know why, but I am having trouble finding these recipes you speak of.
Are they on the forum? Main site? I have dug around and it just doesn't seem easy to find.
Any help or links would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

Hey
@Seth
, we are talking about the recipes that are embedded in the course, like this one:
http://www.chefsteps.com/courses/accelerated-sous-vide-cooking-course/red-wine-poached-pear
. In the future, we'll have stand-alone recipes as well.

Hey
@Michael
,
I just found these this morning! Thanks for the reply, as it allows me to confirm that these are the recipes.
Thanks a bunch!
I think this scaling will be very useful and look forward to using weights more, not volumes!
