Chilli ISOP
tshewman
ISOP Chilli (a little unclear due to smoking oak chips, I really enjoy this campfire approach-Thank you Heston et al). Served with Corn muffins and 10 min walnut chocolate cake.

I was going to make the ISOP chili a few years ago, but then I saw the ingredient list............ 100 things!
Eventually incorporated many of the techniques and approaches of Heston's dish, but I think my ingredient list topped off at around 45-50. Which is still a lot, let's be honest.

The Chilli Blend was the most challenging to procure (I did it a few months ago) and some I had to order from the UK. That said, the remainder of the ingredients and technique(s) are pretty straight forward. So, is there allot of ingredients? Yes. Is the recipe a bit involved? There are a fair number of steps, but ALL are easy. There are also some other things that can be done to make it a bit easier without sacrificing flavor or ingredients. So, will it take 2-3 evenings (or mornings)? Yes. Is it a bit pricey? Yes (two bottles of wine and a ful bottle of Jack Daniels :-)..). Is it good? For me, it is by far the most complex, flavorful I've ever had. It also provides thought provocation (like the compound/spiced butter) that we can take to other dishes (a really nice side benefit). JMHO.
