hmmmm.... that makes it more difficult. What about a big thin sheet of gel that could be flavored and then maybe dusted with something savory to give it some texture.

If you don't need it to be delisicious, dehydrated gelatin would be like that. If you dehyrdrate a broth or juice with the gelatin added you can get something flexible and fabris like. You could even spill hot oil on it and it will puff!

I want it to be delicious. I was thinking rice paper, I don't want it to be too big just to look nice on the plate.

They make rice paper that already looks like it, all you need to do is add flavor and red which you could make the flavor...
