Whew. We just pushed a major new update with a lot of new goodies. Here's a selection of some of the coolest:
- Infinite scroll position saving: it works now. Try it. Go to the feed, scroll down and load a bunch of new posts, click into a post, read it, and click Back to Feed. You won't lose your position.
- External links: along those same lines, links in posts and comments now open in a new tab. This prevents you from having to reload the whole community page when you click on an external link.
- Featured posts: ChefSteps community managers and team members now have the ability to feature good posts. This adds a public badge and increases the hot score of the post, increasing its visibility. I've featured this post as an example so you can see what it looks like.
- Better URLs: previously, links to posts contained long unique alphanumeric IDs like '83121c28-2496-4eb7-8c63-4ba792afea10'. They are now human-readable, generated from the title. This helps you and Google crawl our links. The URL of this post is http://www.chefsteps.com/forum/posts/so-many-new-things-1.
- Back to Feed button works properly now. If you were in a category and click in a post, Back to Feed will go back to your previous position in that same category.
We'll continue to do testing and make sure nothing is broken. As always, we value and appreciate your bug reports, feedback, and thoughts. Keep on being awesome.
