Or I should say a Dutch friend who lived there for 14 years. Let's be accurate!

Arepas are freaking awesome. What did you stuff them with???

Oh, weird, the photo posted upside down
. Petrus brought two kinds of aged gouda, one pretty mild and soft, the other crystalline and flavor packed. And, for the non vegetarians there was a fish roe paste.

Umm they look really good! Just had arepas yesterday with friends, one of my overall favourite dishes !! If only it was not so difficult to get harina pan in some parts of the world...

Where do you live? We have tons of them here on Florida, sometimes Publix doens't know what to do with them and often is buy 1 get 1 free.

I live in Czech Republic.. It is a small country with almost a non-existent latino minority :-) I know only about two places where you can get harina pan here and it is quite expensive. It took us a long time as well - I was living with a venezuelan girl for several years, so not finding it was not an option.. !

Salute from Venezuela.... Chefsteps counst (at least) with one venezuelan follower! The best of arepas is that you can match them with anything. Have you tried Casabe? from the cassava root? I should send you a batch of Harina Juana, my preference since is totally gluten free (my girlfriend is celiac), and also a box of casabe!
