Tried searing with a propane torch (after 20 minutes in the freezer) instead of on the cooktop. Was not overly pleased with the results. However, the combination of hazelnuts and pistachios was righteous.

Looks delish. Those torches are hard to handle. I use one for the first time on some creme brulee and found out first hand how easy it was to hotspot the surface. Good on you for trying it out, though!
