With Thanksgiving dinner coming up, I was wondering how can I bring in desert so that it is familiar and yet a bit different. Then, I thought given that Thanksgiving is a step just prior to Xmas and we often get our tree that weekend, why not make edible ornaments for desert. So, for proof/test of concept, I bought a can of pumpkin puree and made a pumpkin pie mix/filling, molded them and voila. 30 minutes later, I was there and they actually taste good. Now I need to come up with some nice coating agents (like silver) and some proper hanging hooks to make them look more like ornaments ......and now the gloves are off with flavor/desert possibilities. :-).
