Clear coffee?
Brendan_Lee_56950
How far does the clarification process go when using things like agar or gelatin or even a centrifuge? I am curious if you could make coffee clear or close to it with these techniques or would you need to use distillation like a rotovap to achieve this?

I wish i had a rotovap. Someday in the future!

I've done quite a bit of this. It is really hard to remove the pigment, and rotovap is the only viable option. In my experiments I've struggled to get anything tasty/desirable from rotovap clarifications. I haven't had as much time with one as I'd like though.

Rotovap. See what they are doing at Moto for an example.

I'm exploring this. I think I might have to go the route of a flavored oil or distillate but they are kind of hard to find and not readily available to the non-commercial folks.

I've got it so the coffee, via agar clarification, is a "clear" liquid ie no solids but it is still a brown liquid you can easily see through. Clear, like water, would be nice. I would really like to know what coffee looks like after 48,000 Gs.
