Grams to cups
Lenn_Cisneros_127693
I am a novice cook. I want to make the pasta recipe from this site however, it uses grams. Unfortunately my scale does not have grams on it . The recipe calls for 325 grams of flour and 15 grams of gluten. How many cups/oz is that? Help!

1 g = 0.035273961 oz
Or
1 oz = 28.349523125 g (~28.35 g)
Divide by 28.35 to get your ounces.

Also, you should be able to click on the top right corner to scale recipe or change units to ounces.

: I know this is not what you want to hear, but trust me it is VERY good advice. Buy a scale that measures in grams, and get rid of the scale you currently use. You may not see why at first, but over time you will remember this post and thank the day somebody told you to just bite the bullet. A proper scale that measures grams is perhaps the single most important tool I own, without it you cannot accurately replicate anything on this site - or for that matter any of your own recipes with any accuracy. Take it from me, I have thousands upon thousands invested in my kitchen tools yet the scale is the most important one the is.

Lenn, I agree with getting a scale for grams. also, please be aware that you may be confusing weight with volume which can't be converted like that. A cup of sugar will weight at least 3X as much as a cup of flower. Another problem with "American) measurements is things like Fluid oz vs Weight oz. In the metric world there are only milliliters (volume) and grams (weight).

I haven't seen an option to change units, only to scale the recipe

Click on the "Edit Scale & Units", then...on the left you can click on preferred units, right you can scale multiples (or you can type in one weight on the ingredient list and the rest will scale to that.
