Making mustard

Hi! I was thinking of making homemade mustard tomorrow, and i was wondering if boiling the mustard seeds 9 times like in the pickled mustard recipe would work instead of letting them soak for 24 hours? Hoping for a quick response.

Depends on the flavor you're looking for. The seeds have very little mustard flavor left IMO after being blanched 9 times, they are really just there for the pop and texture more than anything.
