so, ive had this idea for some time now - since CS posted the beet fluid gel and horseradish whipped cream recipes. horseradish with beets - aka chrain - is the traditional accompaniment to one of the most jewish of foods - gefilte fish. (at least for european jews.) and now i finally got around to putting it into play once i worked out my beet woes. (no juicer, had to work out a substitute)
for those who dont know, gefilte fish is usually served with chrain (horseradish with beets, as mentioned above, also seasoned with salt, vinegar and sometimes sugar) and usually topped with a slice of the carrot its usually boiled with. its also commonly served with mayo, which is usually mixed with the chrain.
so in place of the chrain and mayo i have the beet fluid gel and horseradish cream and carrot pearls in place of the sliced carrot. the result:
