Not to be snarky, but they would probably have a better experience, and learn more, cooking with you in a kitchen.

Hi Sarah, though they're not online classes, my niece and I have had a lot of fun cooking from the Mollie Katzen books together. We got one for her for Christmas and she loves it dearly. This, after we cooked the ChefSteps cornbread together at Thanksgiving, which was also a blast (especially putting the isomalt nibs in the blender and grinding!).

I cook quite a bit with my daughter, she is 12, we started when she was 6-7 - we started more with prep, knife skills, safety as in pots are warm, stuff is sharp. Then I've just asked what she wants to do. I think the first "dish" she did was sauteed mushrooms. Then scrambled eggs, she loves making smoothies and fruit drinks, she usually makes all type of fruit salad desserts, uses the isi to whip cream, helps us make cappuccino and so on, I think the most important is that it doesn't feel forced, is fun and shows the kiddos that they can make progress.
