Exercise and count calories so you consume less than you burn. That's the only thing that has ever worked for me.
When I'm trying to lose weight I pretty much avoid potatoes, bread and dessert except once a week. Those things are fine in moderation but I suck at moderation so I just don't give myself the option. I find a protein and a well cooked side of vegetables is filling enough without a starch.

I was on numerous diets through the years and the only two diets that have worked for me were keto and carbs rotations. In my humble opinion, you have to watch on your calorie intake. Try using MyFitnessPal or
keto calculator
, it should do the job. When it comes to menu-- rice, cooked potatoes, chicken breasts, turkey meat, fish. Try not to eat sugar and carbs such as bread or pasta. Combine this moderate cardio and you should see the results very quickly. Let me know how it went
