BBQ pizza topping suggestions

Putting together a menu for a rum house kitchen. They're doing social food with a pizza oven being the main attraction. Trying to put together a couple of bbq base pizzas with toppings that are a bit more interesting than the conventional chicken/bacon/onion toppings you'd usually see on a bbq base.

The bbq sauce for the base itself will be made with rum

Any suggestions for flavour pairings?

Don't know if this sounds weird, but Pulled Pork (brained with apple juice/sider plus molasses) as a topping is something I'd crave for.

Pulled pork is a good idea, pulled beef as well. Smoked brisket. Roasted peppers, corn, onion.

People love the chicken/bacon/onion combo with barbecue sauce and sometimes you just have to give people what they want.

Besides, they'll only ask for it anyway.

Great suggestions for BBQ pizza toppings! I’ve been experimenting with bold flavors, and smoky, grilled toppings always win. Recently, I tried combining some ideas I learned about how to cook beef sweetbreads with pizza—grilling the sweetbreads until crispy, slicing them thin, and pairing with caramelized onions and fresh arugula. It added a unique, rich flavor to the pizza that everyone loved. Definitely recommend trying it!
