reverse spherification help

I've made a few larger spheres that were fine and even some smaller ones with alginate and calcium lactate. I recently tried doing the same with sphere magic and calcium lactate gluconate and now I keep getting spheres but that are surrounded by a gel layer. Kind of like a passion fruit seed. Anyone know why this happens?

Forgive me, but I don't understand what the issue is. When you make the little spheres, you get a layer of gel with a liquid inside. you can get a thicker gel if you leave it in the solution longer, but it sounds like you're getting what you should be getting. What exactly is the issue/what are you trying to achieve?
