Ben and Nick (filling in for Grant), Chris, and Ryan have picked their favorites for Culinary Challenge 10 | Put Your Spin on a Favorite Dish from Wherever You Live. This was an easy challenge in which to receive a nod from our founders as there were only three entries, but we still really appreciate your effort, the processes discussed, the dishes created, and the fact that it's gorgeous outside and quite honestly, the next challenge probably needs to involve popping a cold beer on a sunny deck.
Here are the results:
Ben Johnson and Nick Gavin chose Tim Sutherland's Coffee Icecream in a Maple Waffle Cone with Candied Ham and Maple Ham Cotton Candy – nice use of an aerolatte. One note: greasy spoon diners are hardly a weakness, TIm. We love a good greasy spoon!
Chris Young picked Brian Douglas' Scalloped Potato Poutine because 1) he LOVES poutine, 2) he liked the great description of process, and 3) it's a version that he hasn't seen before.
Ryan Matthew Smith liked Chris Koller's Almond Pound Cake with Freeze-Dried Strawberry Power, Graham Cracker Crumbles, Macerated Strawberries, and Brown-Butter Gelato. I'd like a big rocher spoon, please.
