I hope you buy the fermented pastes/sauces!!! They really do like fermenting everything...which is great hahahaah. I like fermented black bean sauce although that is Chinese..

The Asian market that's closest to me is a Korean place. So...... many....... pickles........... I had no idea you could ferment that much food. Awesome stuff. Every time I go, I end up spending like $20 beyond what I went there for because I keep seeing things that look interesting - no idea what it is, but it's food, so I'm piqued.

I love Korean food. Don't know a whole lot about it, culturally. I just know that I've yet to have a Korean dish that I didn't love. It's worth going to Korean restaurants simply for the array of replenishable panchan they ply you with.

Here in Melbourne...I'm a big fan of Korean food, although can be hard to find good Korean food here. I lived one year in North East China, close to North Korea border, and so had access to a lot of great korean food there. My first thoughts of korean food are chili (i.e. Gochujang) , BBQ and kimchi. At home I regularly make samgyupsal and bulgogi, maybe one day will try to do my own kimchi...
