I just bought 1oz of Oregon black truffles at whole foods, because I never used fresh truffles and I wanted to try them out, so I thought why not. The truffles were stored in rice and there was no way for me to open the package before the purchase. Once I got home I realized that they were extremely dry and not very flavorful when sliced.
I am really disappointed and I wanted to know what I can do with dried out truffles. Is there any way to "rehydrate" them?
