I've been googling about but I've not found this before.
Anyone know if a Waldorf Salad Macaron is a new recipe?

It's about 80% walnut flour to 20% almond flour for the hulls, topped with a walnut quarter; with an apple buttercream with finely diced celery mixed into the buttercream.
I was pondering putting a sultana in the middle of the filling, but left it out on this run.
The surface appearance is obviously problematic - the walnut quarter prompts splitting of the hulls, and it's too dominant in flavour; next batch will omit these. And increase the size of the celery dice as well.

I recall Salad Macaroons going through bit of a phase, but don't recall a specific Waldorf version.
