I have 14 coming for Christmas dinner, we call it "Orphans and Derelicts Dinner"(our friends who have no family to share a holiday dinner with and drink heavily). My wife thought I must have suffered a stroke when I said "sit-down/ buffet", this will be a first for me.
To the point, I am doing a Prime Rib roast this year and was hoping for some feed back. Recently I have seen a lot of Austrailn beef at one of the local supermarkets and have no experience with the product. I saw some Rib Eyes in the case and asked how much for the entirebone out roast.......7 BUCKS a pound !! that is almost half of the bone in prime rib around here. So i bought a steak, salt pepper, pre-sear, SV 1:30 mins, 134F, post sear.. it was damned good. was I just lucky or have others had a chance to try the Australian Beef ? I know meat varies piece to piece so you always run a slight risk.
