Dried pear/black walnute bread.

I have three black walnut trees in my yard. Always looking for ways to use them. On day 3, I made French toast with them......yeah I think you can guess how good that was.

I do help my local squirrel friends through the winter months with them. Its funny, they have gotten so used to me putting them out from time to time that the one time I forget (or hadn't done it in awhile) there was a walnut on the ledge of my back porch. I took it and the next day there was another one. Those lil buggers are smarter than I thought. lol I can send you pounds of them. I have about 75 lbs of them from last fall.

Yeah well after year 2 or 3, the neighbors started to see me collecting them and told me I could have all of them from their yards (they just wanted them gone). So....for some ridiculous reason (even though I only like them in certain things and my wife doesnt like them at all) I started collecting and processing the neighbors walnuts as well. Every year I have more than I could possibly do anything with. I will say though....old white Chef's jackets with stains or faded t-shirts are given new life by staining them with walnut husks. And of coarse I have the appreciation of the local squirrel and deer....so I have that going for me.
