Any thoughts on developing a cool tool for converting strange measurement to weight. For example how much does 6 tablespoons of butter weigh in grams? It would be amazing to have a slick Chef Steps UI for this tool...

Do you mean a physical tool or a software program? If you're looking for a software, there are a bunch of websites out there that have extrapolation software. They can vary a little bit, but not excessively so, one to another.

The site, and Martin's twitter don't seem to have been updated for a while but Martin Lersch has a Volume to Weight 'calculator' - well Excel Spreadhseet - posted on Khymis http://blog.khymos.org/ (specificly at: http://blog.khymos.org/2014/01/23/volume-to-weight-calculator-for-the-kitchen/ ) that works really well.

I use it a lot to convert recipes to use weight as the measurement. There are times when the ingredients I'm looking for are not in the spreadsheet, so I need to add it.
