I got one for a trip we are going to take next year so I'm using it now to see what I can all do with it. So far loving it.
One draw back is that I can't get a 9x13 pan in it but then again there is just the two of us so I'm learning how to adjust things.
This is what I have made so far. Pork shoulder roast just dry rubbed it with McCormick's mesquite dry rub. Let it sit in the fridge for about 1 hr. Then Steam/baked it per the cook book. Never made one of these roast before and we loved it. Came out nice and moist with a crisp crust. Just fell apart.
Baked a pineapple upside down cake which I always use to make in a cast iron fry pan in my regular oven. Well I took a round 10" cake pan and made it in there. I swear it was the best one I have ever made. Used convect/bake at 325 degrees for 40 minutes and it came out perfect (made it 2 times now). Next I made some French bread dough and did some rolls with it the crust on the rolls was wonderful I made 4 of them we had them for hamburgers and ate the other 2 just as they were. I love a good hard roll and our bakeries around here leave something to be desired well now I can have a good hard roll. Can only make 4 at a time due to oven size but then again they are the best when fresh. The rest of the dough I shaped into a bread and just baked it right on the tray that came with the oven again very good.
Made salmon with a herb butter sort of followed the cook book directions but made my own butter. We don't eat a lot of fish but I think that is going to be changing around here the fish was very good. I also made asparagus along with the fish. Have used it for baked potatoes but because of the oven size I had to keep them warm in my regular oven while cooking the main course.
Made a whole chicken I bake/steamed it first at 350 for 30 minutes then I did convect/bake at 350 for another 30 minutes we don't like a lot of herbs so I just seasoned it was a season salt. Turned out nice and moist and had a fairley good skin to it. The breast meat made some really good sandwiches the next couple of days.
Then I did lasagna in it. I bought a 10x7 inch pyrex dish and it was a perfect size for the two of us. I boiled 8 noodles (next time I'm going to do 10). Made 2 strips of lasagna was enough for 2 meals (reheated it in the steam/bake mode). My husband said we will have to do it again soon.
So for our trip I'm taking my induction burner and my Cuisinart oven can't wait. I don't know what I'm planning on next. I do wish I could find a little more about the oven and other peoples experiences and what they have made so I could get more ideas. So far if I had to I would buy it again.
