Hiya everyone! This is a great topic. It's nice to see where everyone's coming from. I live in the Kansas City area, my background is in mechanical (consulting) engineering.
I started to get interesting in cooking while in college (about 15 years ago) and from then on have been on a quest to know/learn more. I'm a home cook and my areas of interest are ice cream making, Mexican food (especially Yucatan-area), and tech/science in general. My first sous vide cook was a revelation and I've been going further down the rabbit-hole of modern cooking ever since!
This community (and CS in general) has a great vibe - lots of interesting topics/people, everyone behaves well (or well enough) and is eager to share. I've learned so much from joining and have upped my game a little bit. Thanks for being awesome.
