First, it's amazing the locations we all hail from and I share many in common with the rest of you, and have probably visited the others.
I'm originally from Montreal, Quebec, Canada, but have lived in Florida (Sarasota), California (Marina Del Rey), and now I'm in New York (Work in the city, live in Brooklyn.)
I'm an investment manager/investor relations guy for a large financial firm. (Math and people. Can't go wrong.)
My parents are from complete different areas, Middle East & South America, and met in another completely distinct area North America. Needless to say I feel I'm a citizen of The World like most of you and my pallet is, shockingly, totally adventurous!
My brother used to live in Seattle, now in San Fran, and all those memories are of Pikes Place come flooding back with Chefsteps content.
As for cooking, yeah...freaking always. Traveling all over the place has only reinforced my impression that food is one of the most powerful ways to communicate with people. It's a science, an art, and a labor of love.
Feast on my friends!
