Well I have started on my own cookbook for my oven. Have used the book that came with the oven but do find it lacking. I wish I would have started writing stuff down as soon as I started using it but alas I did not. I'm not a real fancy chef just home cooking but I guess I must be decent enough because both my husband and myself have gained some weight in our life together. Thank goodness not a lot but enough that we could stand to loose some. Anyway cook pretty much like my mom and grandparents. Also I make to many yummy desserts I will have to try my baked cheese cake and choc éclair shells soon as I have whip cream and cream cheese sitting in the fridge. Over the week-end made French rolls (hard rolls) Actually used my Panasonic bread maker to do the dough. One bread batch made 6 nice size hard rolls. Used them for cheeseburgers they were so good. Did a whole chicken (2nd one) The first chicken was 4 lbs and I did it for 30 minutes on steam/bake at 350 degrees then convect/bake at 350 for another 30 minutes. All I did was sprinkle it with season salt turned out very good. My second attempt got a 5 lb chicken (was a little to large) I did it the whole hour on steam/bake at 350 degrees the top of the chicken got a little over done (a little burnt) but hey it still tasted good and the breast meat was very nice and moist when I made a sandwich out of it today. My husband mixed up cookie dough (choc. chip) and did most of them in the regular oven but I tried some in the Cuisinart. Did the first ones at 350 degrees 25 degrees less than conventional oven for 10 minutes and they got a little over done but you could still eat them. I then turned the oven down to 325 degrees and did them for 10 minutes and they came out just right. Only trouble is you can only bake 9 at a time. But hey its just the 2 of us and I'm retired.
So far has made a pork shoulder roast, 2 whole chickens, salmon, cod, pineapple upside down cake, lasagna twice now cookies, caramel rolls, French bread and rolls, I have also baked potatoes in it and made a cheesy hash brown potato casserole in it. I would definitely buy it again. I got it to take on a vacation next year but it is becoming my little work horse. Anyone else have one of these ovens and do you have any tips or recipes that you have come up with for it. Would love to hear from you.
