Spherification calcium bath

Are calcium lactate and calcium chloride the same? I can also use 10grams of lactate per Liter of water for the bath?

They are NOT the same. One had a Cl ion, the other has a C3H6O3 (lactate) ion. They do have different chemical properties, however, calcium lactate can be used in spherification. I don't know very much about it of the top of my head, however, you May find shine useful information here:

Calcium chloride taste like the stuff you put in your pool! Calcium lactate is better for reverse spherification since it have a much more neutral taste.
