Frog Leg Flavor

My girlfriend has a pretty severe poultry intolerance so I try to allow her the indulgences us poultry tolerants get to enjoy by subbing in different proteins when I can. The other day I gave frog legs done like chicken wings a try. Threw them in the circulator, dried them, into cornstarch then into the fryer,, into some buffalo wing sauce. Nice and crispy and good texture on the meat but some of it tasted fishy. I looked up frog flavor on the Internets only to get a healthy mix of hits, from chickeny to slightly fishy. Just wondering if this is the normal flavor and if not, what could cause it?

That's pretty standard i'd say. Some people say "grassy" but I tend to think of chicken with fish notes as far as frog goes. I suspect this would differ depending on the variety/feed since it's a tiny animal.
