In our most recent This Week at ChefSteps weekly newsletter, we included a dispatch from me about grabbing some dim sum at Jing Fong in Manhattan, with an emphasis on the crispy turnip cake. And since we've got Tim working on cheung fun (rice rolls) at the moment, we've been in a dim sum state of mind.
We thought we'd throw this out there both for some audience research for (possible) future recipe development and for our own selfish desire to know where people of discerning taste go to get their dim sum fix.
So, where do you like to get dim sum, wherever you are? Give us the names and locations of your most cherished spots!
Also, what are your favorite things to order? Any “specialty” or unique dim sum you've had that you can't stop thinking about. (One of mine from a spot in Hong Kong years ago was an eggplant and beef cheung fun, for example.)
