black lentil puree

for the black beluga lentil puree, recipe says "place cooked lentils directly into the blender - do not strain" ... do you mean to put the lentils AND the cooking water?

My understanding is yes, add the lentils
and
their cooking liquid. "Place the cooked lentils directly into a blender or food processor. (Do not strain.) Add olive oil and butter, squid ink, and salt. Blend on high until smooth." I have not made this recipe but
@Matthew_Snyder_68770
has and his comments at the bottom of the recipe he specifically says, "Pro tip: Add the water." There will not be that much left you will need it in your blender to make the purée.
