Cherries and more cherries

One of the perks of living where I do in the Pacific Northwest is the abundance of fresh ingredients. Today we went to an orchard very near our home and picked a few cherries, Rainier and Bing cherries are what are ripe now.

Rainer cherries are one of the many reasons I regret leaving Seattle. They look delicious.

Those look beautiful. You should make homemade brandied cherries with these if you like fresh garnishes with your cocktails.

I will probably eat a lot of these fresh. Freeze some and turn some in to a sauce. If I could find a good pie recipe I would make a pie, but really I prefer sour cherries for pie and those aren't ripe yet.
