certalic
Hello, in one of your posts I see that you are using Pectinax-SPL, but I wonder if this also says otherwise, because I'm from Slovenia would like to find in our country. Thank you very much for the answer

Depends on what you are trying to do with it. I haven't had much luck making citrus supremes with plain pectic enzyme. If that is what you want it for real Pectinex SP-L is what you want.

Pectinex SP-L is thousand of time more effective for that kind of application than the generic pectinase you can get at a beer/wine making shop. It's a a specifically tailored for that application.

It's my understanding that Pectinex Ultra-SPL is actually a mixture of multiple enzymes (pectinase, cellulase, and hemicellulase), hence the efficacy with things like citrus supremes. Refer to the
Sigma Aldrich web site
for what appears to be some relevant info.

I didn't like the "standard" pectinase powder from the avarage home brewery shop, don't remember the brand.
However, I have really good results with Pectinase OM made by Schliessmann. Like Pectinex Ultra-SPL, it's a mixture of enzymes to destroy various kinds of plant matter (it does dissolve pea "butter", how disappointing!), and according to instructions the recommended dosage is quite similar as well, a bit more or less depending on the fruit. It has one very important advantage over Pectinex: it's readily available through amazon from nearby European countries, which should keep your shipping costs reasonable.
