Agar set gels

When setting an agar based gel I find that it hard to get rid of the bubbles on top. For some things I want a smooth clear result. I tried blow torch but didn't work so well. Any thoughts?

Trevor I agree with Jim, that should solve your problem with the bubbles.

Have you tried pushing the gel while still hot through a fine mesh China cap or Tamis?
