I hear you. I once wanted to take a photo of a pot of ghormeh sabzi... looked into the viewfinder, then sighed, shrugged, and put away the camera. Such an ugly green mess, no photo would ever do it justice.
On a related note: do you happen to have any tried and tested, no-nonsense, plain rice (i.e. no lavash or potato slices) tahdig recipe? Or any idea how to store it for a day or two to keep the crispy bottom, erm, crispy?

No, I'm playing with the settings on my induction cooktop to see what works. Most have been too low so nicely cooked rice but not crust. The last was too high and burnt.
