croissant dough cronut

Has anyone used the chefsteps croissant dough recipe to make cronuts? What are your thoughts?

I haven't but I was thinking of making them into 'cinna-sants'... spreading a cinnamon, brown sugar butter layer for each layer rather than just butter and making cinnamon rolls from the croissany dough. I believe Dominique Ainsel (cronut inventor) does something similiar now but uses brioche.
