Molasses replacement
Nadav_201166
I'm about to make that smokerless smoked shoulder recipe, and it says to add molasses to the glaze, but i can't find it anywhere... is there anything else the can replace it? Like, honey or something?

Where are you from?
In the UK, for instance, black treacle is a great substitute.
Honey would probably work as far as the sugar content goes, but there's all sorts of other flavours in treacle such as lotsa liquorice.

If you can't get molasses, I would sub maple syrup and dark brown sugar. While the syrup won't lend that deep, smokey flavor that molasses has, the combo of the syrup and the dark brown sugar will get you a lot closer. As Martin suggested, black treacle also a good option.

birchsap syrup or similar if you can get it.
