Another use for the Joule

First, I love cooking with the Joule. It has been nothing short of amazing.

But today I found another use for it.

I live in the Rocky Mountains and this morning it got down to -9 degrees. My shower P-Trap froze. So I had an idea... warm up the water in the drain t 80c to get the ice to melt so it would drain.

Voila! It worked! Picture below!

I have been thinking that we could use a new category on the board for alternate Joule applications. I was thinking culinary applications...like cheese making or beer making...or other kitchen hacks. Bravo on your creative thinking!

I think next time u should set joule to 47 Celsius to keep ur bath top warm so u can take a bath and cook scallops and sole Sousvide packed in the same time u taking a bath ;-)

Years ago, before i had an immersion circulator, I used to make yogurt, in mason jars, in the hot tub. Perfect temp.
